Years of Excellence

Dear Colleagues,

The Association of Consulting Engineers Botswana (ACEB) and the Group of African Member Associations of FIDIC (GAMA) are proud to present the 27th Annual FIDIC-GAMA Infrastructure Conference.

The FIDIC-GAMA Infrastructure Conference is the premier networking opportunity for African consulting engineers. It provides a forum to share ideas on best practice and attracts consulting engineers, national, provincial, and local government officials, state-owned enterprises, funding agencies, contractors, suppliers of construction equipment and materials, investors, and other stakeholders in the built environment from the public and private sectors.

The environment in which we conduct our business is extremely challenging, with economic challenges and various social and political dynamics across the continent of Africa, as well as in the rest of the world, developed and developing countries alike. It is clear that the world as we know it, the consulting engineering environment as we know it, is changing.

Infrastructure development in Africa is critical in bringing about the social development and economic growth that is so necessary. 27th Annual FIDIC-GAMA Infrastructure Conference. provides us all, as role players, the opportunity to interrogate the challenges and opportunities in our sector and our region and to explore strategic partnerships going forward.

Partnerships between the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) and its Member Associations and the regional group, GAMA, will ensure quality and uniformity in the practice of consulting engineering and will create a conducive business environment for working within Africa. The conference will provide opportunities to learn from each other effective ways of dealing with diverse challenges in order to achieve value for money and improve quality of life of the people of Africa.

Join us as we discover “The role of consulting engineers in a changing world: the African perspective”.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Gaonyatsege Kwakwa
